We filled our bucket and celebrated by playing board games. Thank you to the students who brought in their board games. Not only did everyone have fun but they also had the opportunity to practise listening, turn taking and following specific instructions. Great job everyone!
This week we read a book called A Weird Week by Gwen Peterman. It is one of my favourites. The students were asked to visualize an animal and represent their visualization on paper. Have a look! The children were given a problem and asked to show their thinking with pictures, numbers and words. Have a look to see how they did. Today in math our class worked on composing numbers while playing a game. I encouraged the children to say (4 and 3 is the same as 7) after rolling the dice and counting 4 on one and 3 on the other. Have fun playing with your child at home. Everyone loved it!!!!!! At home, read a book, but don't let your child see any of the pictures. Remind them to visualize as you read. Challenge them to draw a picture from the book. After, compare their illustration with the book. Together, compare the similarities and differences between the two.
