Today we had a wonderful day of learning. Check out the pictures from the day's events. The kids had a blast! In math, we are learning about MONEY. Please work with your child at home and support them in being able to identify the following coins by their name and value:
-represent, compare, and order whole numbers to 100, including money amounts to 100 cents, using a variety of tools (e.g., coins, number lines and hundreds charts) -add and subtract money amounts to 100 cents using a variety of tools (e.g., concrete materials, drawings) and strategies (e.g., counting on, estimating, representing using symbols) Below is another video with the lyrics to Canada In My Pocket. Practise at home while reading and singing along to this catchy tune! Today, during gym class, we went outside to practise skipping as we gear up for Jump Rope for Heart at Fieldcrest which is taking place on May 14th. It was so awesome to see everyone trying their best to skip. Whether it be on their own, with a partner or with a small group of students, everyone was challenging themselves to skip. See if you can learn some of these cool tricks at home after school. What a beautiful day to get outside, enjoy the fresh spring air and get some EXERCISE. We started Walking Wednesday last week and the whole class did an amazing job keeping fit and having fun! Each lap that they complete around the primary field allows them to receive a popsicle stick. Be sure to ask how many laps they did today. Also, you might want to ask them if they completed the same amount of laps, less or more. We try to be walking for alteast 20 minutes to fulfill our DPA (Daily Physical Activity) for the day.
